Scotland Here We Come!
A big trip north next for our West Wales Rally Spares Stage Masters Challenge contenders who are contesting the Dunoon presents Argyll Rally on June 19th & 20th. The event is also the second and third rounds of the Metric Services (Leicester) Ltd Asphalt Cup. It’s a long way up for this rally but those that do it love it and are always full of praise for the stages and the organisation. This year it is a small but hardy bunch who will enjoy a weekend in Argyll and Bute and I think all the crews have tackled the rally before.

With a plethora of Minis now registered it is good to see that we have Paul Holmes and Liz Beesley entered in their pinto powered Escort. Paul has recently undertaken cycling 300 miles for Prostate Cancer research so should be in top physical condition for this challenge! Ably assisted by Liz they contested the rally last year and took home maximum points.
The Minis are next and Clive King will be hoping to keep the pressure on in his B2 Mini but will have a change of co-driver for this one with Bob Ward stepping into the breach. Also in B2, Shane Gamble should be on top form having recently competed on the Manx Rally and will have unregistered Julia Perry alongside. Andrew O’Hanlon will just need to finish in his C1 class Mini and he will have the experienced Kevin Hogan riding shotgun. That leaves two entries in the C2 class and Craig King will be hoping to fend off Eric Davis and Russ Joseph as he attempts to win the class. Craig has a stand in co-driver too, she could be classed as a local even, relatively speaking, Aggie Foster will be sampling the delights of Dunoon in a Mini for a change having spent most of the time in a Triumph TR4 over the last couple of years.

That just leaves us to wish everyone a fast, safe and successful rally, the Challenge Secretary won’t be present as he is competing himself on the East Anglian Classic Rally but Clive King will represent HRCR and can answer any questions that anyone might have.
