A fully attended Clubman training day was very well received.
It was a very busy day with Ken and Sarah Binstead covering the preparation essential for a Clubman's day out.
Mark Taylor covered the Insurance requirements and options for competitors new to the sport.
Paul Loveridge explained the challenges of preparing a car to be fit for event scrutineering.
The rest of the day focused on the type of navigational types available to events with a series of hands on exercises taken from previous rallies. Support from a number of experienced crews was available to the class.
Certainly a lot to take in but a great overview for those joining the challenge this season.
Some of the feedback received from a number of attendees.
Just a quick message to say thank you for arranging the HRCR training day yesterday. My brother and I will be new to the series this year and we both found the day very helpful.
really enjoyed the day.
It was pitched really well and the presenters oozed knowledge and expertise / experience which gave me confidence in what they were saying.
The venue/ refreshments all spot on.
Having the Brantz team present was great to quiz and find out about their kit.
I felt it was good value for money and the take away pack was pitched well.
The maps for the exercises being reduced to A4 did mean that the scale was not the same as O/S maps and thus the romers not usable for GR. Not ideal but worth compromising to keep A4 and not an issue on the exercises as start and finish points marked on the map.
Having so many people to help on the plotting exercises was really worthwhile and felt like help was on hand if needed.
Timing in the year was good prior to the HRCR championship soon to kick off with the Dansport.
Ken was great at keeping to the program and timetable as it could easily have run over.
Please pass on my thanks again to the team and hope to see you at an event soon.
An excellent day, thank you. There was a huge amount of detail covered and everything was well presented and clearly explained. Please thank all concerned.
Firstly a massive thank you to all the team, the friendly atmosphere and support were great. Well done to the galley.
I thought the in car video was great and i would put a few more together as it highlighted the need to ready and organised in the co drivers seat.
The Insurance, scrutineering was a welcome break , as was lunch and tea!
Many thanks for a great training day.
Like you said there was a lot to take in, but the practical sessions really helped.
It was also very useful to have the talks on insurance and scrutineering (technical specs to be complied with).
Many thanks for a really informative and entertaining day. I thought the course well planned and covered the essentials thoroughly. The section on car preparation and scrutineering was extremely useful and helpful. I would heartily recommend the training day as essential to any aspiring rally participants.
I found the day incredibly useful and it's now all starting to make sense! The venue was good, food was good and Margaret and myself thought the entire day was outstanding value.
