Get Jerky Rally North Wales 2026

What a great start to the West Wales Rally Spares HRCR Stage Masters Challenge, a great selection of cars and crews with even more friendly people joining the Challenge! The Get Jerky Rally North Wales started from Welshpool Livestock Market and covered some classic Welsh stages which were largely in very good condition. The route used Aberhirnant, Dyfnant North and Dyfnant South which were all used twice with a mid rally service back at the livestock market.

Fastest crew on the day was Nick Elliott and Dave Price in the to die for Fiat 131. Their pace was electric and as newcomers to the Challenge they have certainly made their mark. Rudi Lancaster was also going well in the D5 class despite getting used to a new co-driver but suffered terminal clutch issues in their Escort RS1800 on the way back to the lunchtime service. Despite the retirement Rudi was still his happy smiling self! Mike Simpson and Ian Jones were the beneficiaries and scooped second in the class in their Escort.

Dave Hopkins and Siobhan Pugh cleaned up in C5 and reported no problems in doing so with Jeremy Wells a distant second but nevertheless scoring good points. A puncture didn’t help their cause and his co-driver was most put out that he had to get out of the car to help!
In D3 Conrad Bos, a newcomer to the series, as is Hopkins, took the accolades despite an off road excursion and two punctures as a result. Stalwarts Paul Holmes and Liz Beesley did their customary good job of getting to the end without issue and took second.
A refreshing addition to the Challenge is the Toyota Corolla of Ian Beveridge and he reported no problems on the way to C2 victory. John Adams and James Wardle were running in D2 but sadly retired on the last stage having suffered brake issues earlier in the day.

Onwards now to the Severn Valley Stages in two weeks time.
