Tour of Epynt – Preview

Harvey Stevens/Craig Hardiman Re-visiting Epynt
After the trials and tribulations of the west coast of Scotland the Cat 1 and Mini Cup contenders return for their second visit to the military training area of Epynt.
This time it’s to compete on Port Talbot Motor Clubs Tour of Epynt for this two-day double header rally.
With the King family taking a well-earned holiday championship points are very much up for grabs as the Famous Five prepare to do battle.
Leading the field are the seasoned campaigners of Andrew O’Hanlon and Kevin Hogan followed by Shane Gamble and Julia Perry and with Shane holding third place and Julia second, they’re definitely out to increase their haul.

Local crew of Tom Wesby and Amy Mellin are looking to put the difficulties encountered on their previous visit to the venue behind them and keep the cars driveshaft somewhere between the wheel and the gearbox!
After a very pleasing Argyll Eric Davis and Russell Joseph are hoping to capitalise on their position particularly with a DNF on last years event…..they’re certainly a crew that’s kept their service team busy.
Harvey Stevens and Craig Hardiman have had a quiet season thus far with only the gravel of Rally North Wales under their belts but the draw of the ranges was enough to entice the west midlands crew out.
The Tour of Epynt was the first ever competitive rally to be held over the Epynt and with this year’s entry being in excess of a hundred cars it’s certainly an event not to miss.
