Jim Deacon announces his retirement from Historic Rallying.

Last weekend we enjoyed the annual dinner and awards presentation at a new venue to the HRCR, Woodland Grange near Leamington Spa, where many of the 51 award winners from the 2017 HRCR Hagerty Insurance Clubmans Road Rally Championship turned up to receive their awards very enthusiastically compered as usual by Mike Sones with supporting comments from Ryan Pickering. Notable attendees included long time competitor, Jim Deacon, the recipient for the first year of the newly presented Don Barrow HRCR Trophy for the best placed driver of a Category 1 car in his lovely Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Coupe having been very ably navigated last year by previous Clubmans champion navigator David Taylor who also won the  Don Barrow HRCR Trophy for the highest placed navigator in a Category 1 car. Jim took the opportunity to announce his retirement from rallying after some 25 years competing with the HRCR and thanked everyone involved for the very enjoyable time he has had.

With just a week to go before the first round of the 2018 HRCR Hagerty Insurance Clubmans Road Rally Championship, the Tour of Cheshire on the 3rd March, we have 78 registered contenders with no doubt more to come at Signing-On.
