DESCRIPTION:Hero-ERA Rallies \nA parallel event featuring  simpler navigation is also available  – Hero Challenge 3 (Not part of the Beginners Championship) \nOnce again\, a round of the HRCR Championship joins forces with HERO ERA for a tough and challenging event based at The Motorist on the outskirts of York. \nThe traditional mix of tests and regularities will be spread over the Saturday using some of the best roads in the area\, based in Yorkshire based out of the motoring mecca The Motorist in Sherburn in Elmet with the help of Simon Spinks a HERO-ERA competitor and the team behind this growing venue\, it will open up to us new roads and test venues in an area used in the past for the Rally of the Tests.

DESCRIPTION:HRCR Dean and Marches \n \n  \nThis year’s event will revolve around Reservoirs\, at least 6 in all! \nSaturday Day 1 \nSection 1 \nFrom the start we head out on A roads before turning left at Llanwrthwl following the \npicturesque winding road to Elan Village onto the Elan Valley. On route we pass by \nCaban-coch\, Claerwen\, Garreg-ddu and Craig Goch reservoirs before arriving at \nDevil’s bridge for a lunch halt. \nSection 2 \nFrom here we take in a pleasant little loop off the A44 passing by Pond Rhosrydd \nfollowed by a run around the mighty Nant-y-moch reservoir and the enchanting road \nthrough the Llyfnant valley to the afternoon tea halt in Machynlleth. \nSection 3 \nThe route will then follow the Afon Dulas River before climbing over the hill passing \nMeml viewpoint dropping down to Stay little and around the Llyn Clywedog Reservoir \nby Hafren forest and onto Llanidloes. We then take a leisurely route on the B4518 \nover Oldchapel Hill to Pant-y-dwr turning left to Abbey Cwm Hir and Crossgates to \nthe Metropole Hotel for our evening meal. \nSunday Day 2 \nToday’s route will take in more traditional moorland and classic roads including some \nnew areas above Brechfa forest that we have not visited before. \nSection 1 \nLeaving the Metropole\, we travel along the A483 to Builth Wells and head off on the \nB4520 turning left before Upper Chapel onto the B4519 to Garth and then to Tirabad \nacross the Epynt Military area for a welcome lunch halt at Fedw farm. \nSection 2 \nFrom here we travel down the only dual carriageway in Powys to join the A40 \nthrough Halfway Forest area to a major period drovers’ town of Llandovery. Leaving \nhere we travel through Siloh\, Porthrhyd\, Llansawel and the open moorland road over \nMynydd Llanbythyr skirting Brechfa Forest. The A 485 takes us through Llanbydder \nto our afternoon tea halt in Lampeter. \nSection 3 \nThe route leaves Lampeter onto the B4343 following the River Teifi to Tregaron. We \nthen travel over the famous Abergwesyn mountain road taking in the devil’s staircase \nto Beulah. DESCRIPTION:A tribute to the late Philip Young…\nIn the mid 1980’s\, English motor sport enthusiast Philip Young began organising events that kick started the Classic Rally movement. Over the next few decades rallies like the Classic Marathon and Monte Carlo Challenge gave hundreds of enthusiasts all over Europe and beyond the opportunity to drive\, and re-live\, the golden days of rallying. \nSadly\, Philip is no longer with us but some of those competitors\, along with a few of his original organising team\, have got together to organise a special event in his memory. \nBased at Annecy in the French Alps\, the three day event harks back to the essence of rallying as Philip originally intended. Dramatic Alpine passes\, remote mountain roads and pretty rural villages all strung together by accurate navigation and a testing timetable – the kind of driving your classic or vintage car was built for.
