North-East Wiltshire/West Berkshire
A change of venue for this year. This ever popular tour will start and finish at the Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club, conveniently only 1.5 miles from junction 16 off the M4. Places of interest along the way will include the Avebury stone circles and Silbury Hill, both part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the ancient woodland of Savernake Forest.
Morning coffee will be taken at the Crofton Pumping Station alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal, a chance to see the oldest working steam pumping engines in the world. And after enjoying the open roads across the North Wessex downs there will be a lunch halt in the centre of the historic market town of Hungerford.
Returning to Royal Wootton Bassett there will be a sit-down evening meal in the modern facilities of the Rugby Club. To reserve a place contact the entries secretary John Rogers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
