Mintex Improvement on Seeding Awards
Questmead Ltd kindly donate an axle set of Mintex brake pads to the crew in each Category improving their seeding position the most.
The calculation is carried out by breaking down the entry into the three categories, then taking out the non-registered and non starting/finishing runners. A true comparison of start and finish order is then obtained, the awards worked out and a voucher sent out to the winning crew after the event.
As an indication of how good Paul Lawrence's seeding table is - on the 2009 Mid Wales Historic Stages, all the Category 1 runners that finished were in their seeded order so the tie-break draw came into force. In Category 3, the winners, Will Onions and Tim Hobbs, were the only crew to improve their position by two places (from 4 crews who had improved by one place only). Category 2 actually saw a clear winner - a return to form resulting in Neal James and Kevin Jones picking up seven places.

Our seeding suggestions to organisers are getting better as it is becoming harder than ever to separate the finishing crews (so avoiding unfair advantage to those who have more crews finishing in front of them) with various tie deciding methods having to being used!
Thanks to Paul Lawrence for the pictures
