Scenic Tours 2008

A series of social events promoted by the HRCR which gives the car owner, family members and/or friends an opportunity to use their pride & joy with no ‘competitive' element other than to arrive at the various hostelries in time for the food and drink. In some cases there is the added incentive of doing the route using the minimum amount of fuel or guessing your fuel consumption and trying to stick to it. In most cases a full diagrammatic (tulip) road book is supplied, eliminating the need to read a map - although some people still like to follow the route on the local OS maps. Timing is only used to spread the entry out and is such that you can enjoy the scenery and even stop on route to enjoy the views or take pictures. The emphasis is on a relaxed, social, fun event in the company of like-minded people in some of the most beautiful parts of the country. No competition licences or memberships of any particular car club are required. This year we have expanded the number of events to cover even more areas of our beautiful country and also include a visit to Flanders Fields.
